Two hurt, cattle killed in Dubbo crash
AAP |  February 9, 2012

A TRUCK driver has been thrown from the cabin of his vehicle and several cattle are dead following a crash in central western NSW.

The crash involved two trucks.

Police say one of the trucks jack-knifed on the Newell Highway, north of Dubbo, last night, ejecting the driver from the cabin.

He's been airlifted to a Sydney hospital with serious injuries.

The other truck crashed into a tree and rolled onto its side.

The driver suffered only minor injuries, but a large number of cattle on board died at the scene.

A vet and ranger have been at the scene assessing the health of the surviving animals.

A section of the Newell Highway is expected to be closed until this afternoon, with diversions in place.
