Canada begins live animal exports to Qatar 4.10.2012
« Reply #1 on: October 04, 2012, 02:47:14 PM »
Breeder sheep and goats from Canada will be exported to Qatar in the Middle East from today.

Qatar already accepts Canadian cattle and last year spent $4.5 million on Canadian farm products.

The Canadian Minister for Agriculture, Gerry Ritz, says that live exports create jobs, prosperity and economic growth in his country.

The move is part of a bigger push by Canada to gain access to Middle East countries including Bahrain, Saudia Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

Mr Ritz says they constitute one of the world's wealthiest association of countries and he'll continue to create more live export opportunities there for Canadian livestock.
