Graziers experiencing drought conditions are reminded of their duty of care for their stock.

There have been cases of tourists reporting stock in poor condition in western Queensland.

Warren Lehmann, from Biosecurity Queensland, says the legislation is clear.

"Duty of care is the provision of appropriate feed and water, appropriate shelter and accommodation, appropriate treatment for diseases and ill health."

Mr Lehmann says that in the majority of cases he investigates, landholders are providing the correct level of care.
