Cant help but think the driver probably threw the sheep from the top of the truck as it is unimaginable that he would bother otherwise.

What an arsehole.

Police seek information regarding dead and dying sheep dumped on Eyre Highway

Police are seeking information regarding the discovery of dead and badly injured sheep at a rest stop on the Eyre Highway near the WA/SA border.

Officers from Eucla Police Station found five sheep that had been dumped in a rest bay on the side of the highway at  Mundrabilla yesterday afternoon.

Two were dead, and the three that were still alive were seriously injured and close to death.

The officers were forced to put the remaining sheep down.

Police believe the sheep had been dragged to the site and left to die from their injuries.

Police say that section of the highway is used by sheep transport trucks moving animals between Western Australia and South Australia.

It is not known how long the sheep had been there, however, it is thought to be less than 24 hours, and most likely the same day.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or who saw any sheep transport trucks in the area yesterday morning, is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
