Dead and injured sheep dumped on Eyre Highway.

The nation's Livestock and Rural Transporters Association is appalled by the latest animal welfare incident that occurred near the South Australian/Western Australian border last week.

Western Australian police are seeking information from the public about the discovery of five sheep dumped at a parking bay at Mundrabilla on the Eyre Highway.

Two sheep were dead and three were still alive but had to be put down.

Police have confirmed the sheep were dragged to where they were and had been left to die from their injuries.

John Beer, president of the Australian Livestock Transporters Association, was shocked by the news.

Police at Eucla say they're following a number of leads and are confident of identifying the person responsible within a week or two.

The case is being investigated in conjunction with the Western Australian Department of Agriculture and the RSPCA.
