: University student spotlights animal welfare

Not too many weeks go by without animal welfare being raised in the Australian media.

Last week it was the report that 4000 sheep died of heat stress  (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-01-16/confirmation-4000-sheep-died-on-export-ship/5203356)on a live export ship to the Middle East in September, 2013.

Animal welfare protection in the live export trade has been a hot topic for both Australian primary producers and the general community since a ban on cattle exports to Indonesia in 2011.

The debate has captured the attention of a student film-maker who used his final university project to produce a documentary investigating a range of opinions on animal welfare.
